Spark Energy to make paying by cash or card more rewarding
Aug 30, 2013 by Spark Energy
Spark Energy is a fresh alternative to the ‘Big 6’ energy suppliers. Their focus is on providing good value gas and electricity to tenants in rental properties across the UK.
Spark offer four ‘fair and simple’ tariffs depending on how customers choose to pay their energy bills. The cheapest option is to pay by monthly Direct Debit, but some customers still choose to have the flexibility of paying by cash or card.
This month Spark announced details of their new Standard Plus tariff and the new rewards on offer for paying early.
Although wholesale and distribution costs continue to increase, and cash tariffs remain expensive to run, the good news for Spark customers paying by cash or card is that unit rates will be lower from 1 October 2013 and customers who pay within 14 days of receiving their bill will also benefit from an 8% discount as a ‘thank you’ for paying promptly.
Kris Jakobsen of Spark Energy said “we might be smaller than the Big 6 but we’re committed to offering competitive prices for all of our customers. We think it’s only fair to reward customers who choose to pay early and offer a competitive deal for customers who pay on time”.
William Russell from Spark’s Customer Services team said “We’re always here to help and offer support to customers. We’ve recently introduced online chat and a free call-back service, I’d encourage customers to get in touch with us if they have any questions about the new tariff”.
