Giving tenants a good deal on their energy
Sep 13, 2013 by Spark Energy
Spark Energy is a fresh alternative to the ‘Big 6’ energy suppliers. Their focus is on providing good value gas and electricity to tenants in rental properties across the UK.
Spark is committed to offering tenants across the UK with the best possible deal on their energy from the day they move in. Latest guidance from Ofgem published on 12 September 2013 shows that only 23% of tenants who rent their property have switched supplier – missing out on significant savings. Based on Ofgem’s calculations, the average annual bill for gas and electricity is now £1420 per year.
William Russell from Spark’s Customer Services team said “we’re geared up to make sure that tenants receive better prices and good customer service from the day they move in. Many tenants don’t realise that if they’re responsible for paying for the energy, then they have the right to switch to another supplier at any time, and we can help with that”.
Chris Gauld, Managing Director said “I welcome Ofgem’s guidance; it’s encouraging and good news for tenants. As specialists in the busy rental market we work with our letting agent partners to design services and products that work for the consumer. They are on our lowest standard tariff from day one which doesn’t have any tie-ins or exit penalties. We actively encourage tenants to compare what prices are out there”.
Spark offer some of the best value tariffs in the UK including the country’s cheapest pre-payment meter tariff and a Price Commitment on their Standard tariff to be equal to or cheaper than the equivalent tariff from the ‘big 6’ energy suppliers.
